Tiivistelmä:Based on case study work and information gained from both the literature and general experience, it is argued that there is little written evidence in most organizations of what their objectives and/or strategies are, particularly in the purchasing function. Some examples of corporate, marketing and purchasing objectives and strategies are described. The case study involved an investigation into sourcing from the lesser developed countries, and it is pointed out that the purchasing decision when sourcing on an international front is more complex than purchasing from the domestic market.
