| Tiivistelmä: | Agriculture occupies an important position both in China's economy and in America's economy. The Sino-American agricultural co-operation presents the following characteristics: 1. The inter-governmental exchanges become increasingly active. In the past 10 years, both sides have sent mutually 256 investigation teams with over 1000 scientists involved. 2. Transnational corporations put more input in this line. For example, the American Mainland Grain Corporation has established two feed companies in Hubei province and also run a broiler farm and Fuyang Food Industrial Company in Tianjin. 3. Technological co-operation is developing steadily. 4. Artificial agriculture is the broad field for Sino-American agricultural co-operation. In the co-operation, China will focus on bio-technological co-operation in an effort to serve the agriculture. |
