| Tiivistelmä: | This article explores how formal safety assessment (FSA) can be applied to the cruise industry. First the FSA framework is described and the statistics of cruise ship accidents are analysed. Then a FSA methodology for cruise ships is introduced and tested carrying out a case study where following areas are examined: hazard identification, risk assessment, management of risks, cost-benefit analysis and decision making. |
