| Tiivistelmä: | The Institute of Management and the British Home Stores /a high street retailer firm/ conducted a survey about the career chances of female managers. The research, based on the responds of 1 ,500 female and 800 male managers, revealed that there was a widespread prejudice among male managers against their female colleagues, so the existence of an old boys' network was the biggest single barrier to women who wanted to reach the top. It was also found that marriage and child bearing are further hindrances for women in getting higher position. It is suggested that the traditional manager carreer should be rethought fundamentally. |
