For the purposes of the report, the authors have divided the market into the following five main sectors: body wash/shower gel; bar soap; bath additives; liquid soap; talcum powder. Some of the main findings of this research are: 1) the French bath and shower products sector was very dynamic in 2000, in line with greater use of premium products such as liquid soaps and shower gels. 2) Bath and shower value sales totaled FF4,321 million in 2000, having increased by 5.5 Y0 in current value terms in that year. 3) The sector has been characterized by a trend towards soft and "natural" products offering extra care and dermo-protection benefits.
