| Tiivistelmä: | Comparative survey analysis reveals differences between countries in the usage and adoption of forecasting techniques. Many forecasting management practices are found to be unsupportive and unable to utilize current advances in forecasting methodology. Gaps in the forecasting process are shown. These need to be closed in order to render forecasting more effective. The greatest frequency of improvements needed are from companies with no defined responsibility for forecasting. Attempts at reducing the technical gap by itself are not likely to improve the effectiveness of forecasting. |
