| Tiivistelmä: | In general, an individual has some expectation of the kinds of alternatives fortune is likely to give him, prior to any detailed analysis of the lotteries open to him. The probability of any consequence which deviates significantly from this expectation, either by being too good or too bad, will be discounted. A suspicious subjective expected utility maximizer, that is one who treats potential consequences of states as information useful in assessing the probability of these states, may under reasonable circumstances act as though he were maximizing either weighted linear utility, or skew-symmetric bilinear utility. |
