| Tiivistelmä: | The paper provides a critical review of the present state of knowledge and practice with respect to the analysis of the information process on the stock market. In order to evaluate the different techniques properly, the observed inquires are categorized into the test event, the applied data and methods and finally into the obtained results. It has been shown that the most frequently used tool to explain the impact of a single event on stock prices is the event study methodology. As a result the limits of the various designs plains the necessity for a reorientation in developing new methods that are able to process information simultaneously and to consider qualitative information besides quantitative ones. |
