Tiivistelmä: | The UK consumer of audio equipment is offered some 3,000 products from over 200 suppliers. Most suppliers fall into one of the four categories: 1) suppliers whose products span most of the range of audio product groups, these are mostly giant multinationals, Japanese-owned; 2) mostly British manufacturers who supply mainly hi-fi separates; 3) those supplying mainly portable and personal stereo equipment; 4) those that import products from low-cost Far Eastern countries and market them under their own brands. Matsushita Electric Industrial is the largest of the Japanese audio companies. It has three strong brands: Panasonic, Technics and Victor Company of Japan (JVC). Sony is the second largest, but in the UK it is the better known. |
