| Tiivistelmä: | What do venture capitalists actually do to increase the value of their investments? What can they do to ensure that their investments are better off under their control than elsewhere? This paper assesses the parenting activities of venture capitalists by describing the basic functions which they perform. It then describes the way in which value can be added at each stage. Finally, it contrasts the activity and experience of venture capitalists with that of the corporate centers of big companies and where there are differences, it reflects on what can be learned from their differences. |
