Tiivistelmä: | The Day Reconstruction Method is applied to compare unemployed and employed people as to their subjective assessment of emotional affects, differences in their activities' duration and composition during the day and their self-reported life satisfaction. Employed people are more satisfied with their life than the unemployed, reporting more positive feelings when engaged in similar activities. Yet, weighting these activities with their duration, it is shown that average experienced utility does not differ btw. the two groups. Despite the unemployed feel sadder with similar activities, they can compensate it by using the time in more enjoyable ways than the employed at work can do. |
