| Tiivistelmä: | Recent technological developments have enabled companies to create virtual employees, in other words, "chat robots" who can communicate with online clients. This article concentrates on profiling these virtual employees who mostly are human-like and female. The fact that they usually are female is a sign of the gender stereotyping of customer services in general. According to the writer this is at least a symbolic reinforcement of the real circumstances of gender divisions in customer service. |
