| Tiivistelmä: | Four rules of setting the standards of performance are defined: looking at past levels of output: evaluating the accuracy of performance standards; setting job performance benchmarks for use in goal setting; evaluating job design factors that affect the standards of performance. The limitations of standards for measuring managers are discussed. A four-step process of setting standards for the higher level managers is suggested. Indicators to measure the unmeasurable are denoted. |
