| Tiivistelmä: | Although a considerable part of the 13 000 companies of the German Treuhandanstalt, the large national holding responsible for the state owned companies of the ex GDR, will have been shot down or sold by the end of this year, i.e. by the conclusion of the operation of the holding, the fate of the other companies is an important issue too. The importance of the question is reflected by the fact, that the companies in question are often the only employer in a region. The article describes the details of the economic, social and political dimensions associated with the possible fate of these firms. |
