Tiivistelmä:Results of a recent survey by the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School forecast electronic commerce retail sales to reach $133 billion by 2004. Yet the same survey results reveal that the rate of growth of online spending per consumer is declining. One major reason cited for this decline is consumer unwillingness to "trust the business with private data," a direct reference to concerns with e-commerce security. The "2000 Computer Crime and Security Survey," conducted by the San Francisco-based Computer Security Institute (CSI), in conjunction with the Federal Bureau of Investigation's (FBI) Computer Intrusion Squad, offers compelling evidence to support consumer and business online apprehension.
