Tiivistelmä:During the latest EU enlargement in the years 2004 and 2007, there had been a public concern on the low initial standards of living in the new Member States. However, the new members have performed generally well. Average earning in those countries has increased significantly faster than in old Member States. In spite of that, regional imbalances have worsened and job opportunities for low-skilled and poorly educated people have declined. In terms of Social dimension, the situation is still complex and the new Member States still remain seriously underdeveloped. That is mainly due to poor industrial relations system.
