| Tiivistelmä: | This paper aims at examining the effects of managerial share ownership (hereafter as: m-s-o.), CEO duality and board independence (here as: brd-ind.) on the relationship (as: r-ship) btw. innovative efforts and performance. It is predicted and found that m-s-o. has a positive effect on this r-ship while CEO duality has a negative effect. Contrary to the hypothesis, it is found that brd-ind. also has a negative effect on the r-ship btw. innovative efforts and performance. This contradictory result is, however, consistent with the managerial incentive theory. |
