| Tiivistelmä: | In 1997 some progress was made in transforming Russia's economy. The slump in gross domestic product and the massive outflow of capital seemed to have come to a halt in the fall, the inflation rate has reached its lowest level since the beginning of the transformation process, the currency is stable, and institutional reforms are being effected. Consequently the available forecasts predict an economic recovery for 1998. The forecasts for GDP growth range between 1 and 5 per cent. |
