Tiivistelmä:The Japanese banks are making serious numerous fields of the US banking system. This year a quarter of corporate loans is provided by foreign banks. The most dramatic progress in US financial markets is achieved by the Japanese banks. The Japanese rates are lower because their banks exploit their lower capital ratios and more modest profit margins. The Japanese bankers are interested in every type of business: treasury bond markets, foreign exchange markets, and even municipal and utility markets. Japanese bankers refute the allegation of unfair competition, they explain their success by having more reliable clients with lower risk-debt.
