| Tiivistelmä: | Nowadays, there are over 400 million rural labourers in China, 100 million of whom have been absorbed by township enterprises. Out of the approximately 200 million surplus labourers in rural areas, threefourths are concentrated in the central and Western areas of China. A successful transfer of rural surplus labourers will determine rural economic development, social stability and the outcome of China's modernization drive. This paper offers some views and suggestions to this matter. |
