Tiivistelmä:Inadequate motive force to increase farmers' income, the low growth rate of their income and the resultant limited effective demand and sluggish consumer goods market are the main problems and contradictions in agriculture and rural economy. It is the change of the supply and demand pattern of the agricultural products that restricts farmers' income increase. The extensive expansion which acts as the dominant growth model results in the poor economic performance and the decrease in the absorptive capacity of labor power as well as the quantity of new employment in rural enterprises. In addition, the progress of urbanization has lagged behind, with the employment transfer hindered. The farmers' income growth can be realized by means of readjustment of prices and industrial structure within rural areas and so on.
