| Tiivistelmä: | This paper aims to analyze the demand of tourists staying in agri-tourist (here as: a-t.) facilities, assessing the impact of a-t. on local development as to the income and employment. The study was conducted in Tuscany, Italy. Tourist spending was measured using a questionnaire submitted to tourists staying in a-t. facilities. Main weaknesses of the tourist system were highlighted through personal interviews performed with key informants. The results highlight a lack of coordination btw. the suppliers of products and services provided in the area, limiting local product visibility. A better coordination would imply strengthening of individual actions and enhancing the value of products by linkage to the specific resources of the local system and cultural identity. This would determine a higher impact of a-t. on the development of the area. |
