| Tiivistelmä: | A fundamental reform of the system of old-age pension insurance is claimed in public debates in Germany. The necessity of such a reform and the possible future of the German old-age pension system is considered. The article analyses the issue in detail: The relevant changes and factors such as the demographic changes, the development of the rate of contributions to the insurance system, and the future development of the financial situation are considered. The proposed measures to reform the German old-age pension system are described and criticized. |
