| Tiivistelmä: | The paper considers the Italy's economic. The author first describes the evolution of Italy's economic and politic after the Second World War. Then the author studies the First Economic Miracle" (an industrial boom in 1950s that brought prosperity to the country's northern and central regions) and the "Second Economic Miracle" (a small- and medium-sized companies boom during the 1980s) in Italy. The author also considers the nine challenges to Italy's economic future: 1) Bureaucracy; 2) Unions; 3) Unemployment; 4) Underground Economy; 5) Taxation; 6) Financial Markets; 7) Foreign Investment; 8) Education; 9) Privatization. In conclusion, the author forecasts Italy's future and warns against the forthcoming demographic crisis. |
