| Tiivistelmä: | The central claim of this article is that the choice of alliance scope affects the character of benefits that alliance participants receive and this way also the initation, evolution and termination of the alliance. Therefore determining alliance scope is one of the most important tasks practioners of alliances have. There are private and common benefits of an alliance which have to be considered when studying alliance scope effects. Activities not governed by an alliance but nonetheless affecting it are also studied. |
