| Tiivistelmä: | Many companies will be shifting their style and structure to accommodate the changes of a new decade. Neither command and control tactics nor 1960s-style decentralized management will prevail. The network model is put forward as an ideal answer to the needs of the '90s. The network model is interdependent, drawing on the capabilities of each unit to strengthen their collective performance. It does not waste programmes or individuals which can make a contribution to it. However, it brings different pitfalls. One is the tendency to go overboard on task forces and centres of excellence. The answer is to manage their number and functions prudently. |
