| Tiivistelmä: | Centralized systems of production planning and controlling have reached the limits of their capability. The time is ripe for decentralisation. However, the supply of companies specialized in the development and implementation of these systems is changing slowly and does not meet the new requirements in every respect. Modern companies with a knowledge of the state-of-the-art in this field should concentrate their efforts and resources on the development of a decentralized production planning and controlling system. In order to make this system more efficient, the emphasis must be laid on the users instead of technology. The most important steps of systems development are described. |
