| Tiivistelmä: | Consumers are nowadays paying increasing attention on the socio-cultural product aspects. Hence, firms have to consider the need for linguistic, semantic, technological and functional innovations. This paper analyses nine in-depth case studies about companies developing radical design-driven innovations for the household environment. It is aimed to identify the basic characteristics of the companies' R&D organizations. Herein, introduced is a classification of design-driven laboratories (DDLs) that uncovers how specific organizational characteristics might ease different innovation strategies. |
