| Tiivistelmä: | Within the context of globalisation a company needs logistical systems showing optimal structures and process chains in terms of quality, time and cost. As an example for such an optimisation process serves the logistics chain between Daimler-Benz AG - business area Mercedes-Benz segment passenger cars - and Mercedes-Benz of South Africa (pty) Ltd. Especially the factor time is focused as a primary target to reduce the lead time of completely knocked down cars in the logistics chain. Two examples demonstrate the possibilities of this lead time reduction. |
