Tiivistelmä:The article investigates whether companies express discrimination against their smoking employees. The paper first discusses employee costs that have led to smoking bans in many companies. A survey of corporate smoking policies is conducted, including 76 companies in the United States. The views and opinions of the employees participating the study on smoking policies are examined, along with the current laws regarding the rights of both smokers and nonsmokers. Finally, the ideas of the philosophers Locke, Kant, Rawls and Nozick are used to evaluate the current smoking policies and to determine whether they can be considered as discrimination.
