| Tiivistelmä: | Using institutional perspective, this paper investigates why firms experience problems with incremental product innovation. The data set consists of qualitative data from Dutch financial services sector. The study argues that the impact of micro institutional forces is underestimated in many innovation studies. The effect of those forces on complex incremental product innovation is illustrated at the business unit level. In addition, the interaction of micro institutional forces also affects to the result of the innovation process. |
