Tiivistelmä:It is commonly assumed that a strong corporate culture is a critical success factor, an essential foundation for corporate excellence. This, however, is only one side of the coin. The paper shed light on the other, mostly unrecognized side: Strong cultures may have severe negative consequences for organizations and their viability. Possible dangers are pointed out: narrow-mindedness, lack of creativity, rigidity, conformity, and too much trust in past policies and procedures. Major implications for further-research and practice are explored.
