| Tiivistelmä: | Researchers engaged in study of environmental impact of the products of chemical and pharmaceutical industries have analyzed the ecological performance of the twelve largest corporations throughout the world. Within a five year research program twelve criteria of ecological performance were identified and applied to performance appraisal. A sample of national standards developed to the benefit of environmental protection was investigated. A number of international comparisons were made. It was demonstrated that corporate codes of environmental protection could be used effectively and dealing with ecologically sound products could be a very profitable business for the companies. The results of a few German multinational companies were especially scrutinized. |
