| Tiivistelmä: | In the course of the history of modern business organizations, many enterprises have changed their structure of decision making centralized to decentralized ones and sometimes vice versa. Nowadays most of the companies choose lean and decentralized structures. In a holding type organization there is a separation of strategic management from operations management causing numerous conflicts. Arguments are presented that in modern management holdings a reorganization of headquartes taking tasks and decisions from top management and bringing them to lower-level organizational structures is highly beneficial because they get closer to the market. A number of functional areas of management are reviewed seeking possible ways of decentralization. |
