| Tiivistelmä: | The trend scenario of hte western Mediterranean is characterized by internal socioeconomic conflict within the Maghreb countries (mainly in Algeria) and by a type of industrialization that consumes the resources and in the short term impoverishes the coutnries. In the article other possible scenarios are presented. Their paths of development are based on the promotion of inter-Maghreb cohesion and an inter-Maghreb market, and on the sociotechnical development of the Maghreb core territories. |
