| Tiivistelmä: | Quality may have an immediate impact on profitability. A cause and effect relationship between quality and profit does not exist although there is a positive association between them in the long run. It is therefore important to understand that quality is not something to be pursued with expectations of immediate payoff. Commitment to quality must be based on its long-term, strategic effects. This article provides some specific examples where less than total commitment created confusion and communication gaps which ultimately ended up damaging the quality effort. |
