| Tiivistelmä: | This paper deals with the development of modern management education in Finland from 1958 to 2000. It is found that 'modern' 'American type' management education did not arrive in Finland much later than in other European countries. However, in Finland it met with resistance, and only slowly pervaded Finnish society at a broader level. Finnish developments also closely followed international trends. This can be explained by the length of time it has taken for Finland to catch up, as well as by institutional factors. However, since the 1990s, this field of education has undergone strong development. |
