Tiivistelmä:The imbalance between strategic industrial relations and human resource management is aimed to redress. It is argued that the management of human resources is an issue which is vital to the implementation of strategy. A definition of strategic human resource management as a jumping-off point of further development is suggested. An interpretation of management actions is given. Finally it is argued that strategic human resource management, for it is to contribute to competitive advantage, must be linked to the organization's product market situation.
