| Tiivistelmä: | With more than 100 suppliers, Waterville TG devotes much attention to its procurement systems which must reliably provide accurate data as well as be sufficiently flexible to operate with a low inventory of raw materials. These objectives have been achieved in two phases. In phase 1 the company achieved better control of raw materials inventory using reusable barcoded tags or kanbans and a PC-based MRP system to calculate its requirements. In phase 2 it moved from a push to a pull system for the larger part of its raw materials |
