| Tiivistelmä: | In this article, examined are the best available metrics used by 20 major German companies to measure sustainability. Companies have initiated sustainable development initiatives (here as: sust-d-inits.) to address the demands and expectations by society. Most sust-d-inits. have been developed in isolation of business activity (as: b-a.), being not directly linked to business strategy (as: b-s). A way to strengthen the link btw. b-a. and b-s. is to measure the extent to which a company's performance increases as a result of implementing sust-d-inits. |
