Tiivistelmä:In managing corporate social responsibility (CSR), codes of conduct have become a possibly most often used tool. This study examines one particular group of sub-company level codes, that is, codes of conduct defining CSR criteria for suppliers. Examining ethical sourcing policies adopted by the FTSE100 companies, it is herein drawn out what environmental, economic and social issues large corporations see as important in their supply chain management. In general, CSR issue coverage seems to be rather extensive. However, at an individual company level, a degree of selectivity in the addressed issues gets noticeable. In addition, the code content analysis confirms the business case and public pressure to be the most important drivers of CSR. Finally, the role of isomorphic processes is emphasized in the adoption of CSR tools.
