| Tiivistelmä: | The last decade has witnessed a significant upsurge in the number of regional trade agreements (RTAs). During the 45 years of its existence, 109 agreements were notified to the general Agreement of Tariffs and Trade (GATT), and 62 were still in force in December 1994. By contrast, during the five years since its establishment in January 1995, 69 new RTAs were notified to the World Trade Organization, and 113 were in force in December 1999. |
