Tiivistelmä:Computer networks are increasingly being used to support the information flow within and between organizations, and their use influences and has consequences for interorganizational relationships. Electronic Data Intercharge (EDI) refers to the computer-based exchange of standardized business-related information between supplier and buyer. The framework addresses the role that power and trust play in EDI adoption and use. Computer networks provide a way for certain information to be more accessible to outside parties, and their use makes organizational boundaries more permeable. The role of trust and power in EDI adoption has significant implications for interorganizational theory. In understanding how technology support strategic alliances that firms create to advance mutual goals, the role of trust and power may be helpful.
