| Tiivistelmä: | As computer resources decentralize and the number of networked devices explodes, firms are centralizing their reporting structures, and network management is becoming the crucial coordinator. The question, who should have operational authority, is posed. The problem of organization, stemming from the fact that network management is easier to solve technically than organizationally, is examined. Further difficulties arise from users' resistance to losing network control. Users' attitude toward Local Area Networks is dealt with. A few important technical solutions to control problems are described. Organizational requirements for an efficient network management are summarized. |
