| Tiivistelmä: | IKB Deutsche Industriebank (IKB) specializes in long- term finance and is the only national operating bank in Germany whose range of services are directed specifically at entrepreneurs and enterprises. IKB's treasury operation is self contained in two locations, one in Dusseldorf and one in Luxembourg. In 2001 KB investigated the structure and processes of its treasury business with the view to it becoming more streamlined and efficient. The results uncovered the fact that IKB needed to automate its processes by implementing a back office system to eradicate the manual processes and to take over from the third party system being used. The paper tries to find out more about the bank's activities and how the back office functionality of a product will be used to support the bank's operations within the treasury. |
