Tiivistelmä:This article discusses the emergence of a new form of social inequality, which is caused by the digital divide. It is shown that in 2003, membership of technnical generations and ethnic badkground to a large extent determined the use of new technologies. Effects of income, gender, and living in a single household are significant. It is argued that human and social capital are more important than economic capital in explaining private computer and Internet use.
