Tiivistelmä:The climate of political and economic change sweeping through Latin America is as substantial as that affecting Eastern Europe, though less publicized. Trade agreements, tariff reductions, and privatization all promise a more competitive business environment and increasing opportunities for foreign multinationals. For example, marketing products in countries with hyperinflation, Procter and Gamble sometimes has had to raise its detergent prices as high as 30 p.c. every two weeks. It is argued that the reward can be great. Some guidelines are presented to foreign investors on how to decide which countries to enter and which products and services to offer. The different approaches to marketing and organization are reviewed.
