| Tiivistelmä: | To the redesign of business processes handling complex tasks in an ever-changing environment, business process redesign and decision support can be useful. Information technology has possibilities to enhance consistency between operation and strategy, facilitate organizational learning, and improve the quality of empowered employees' decisions. The integration is illustrated through the design of a prototype system to support the redesigned credit evaluation process in a Norwegian bank. Business process redesign should be complemented by the decision support approach to improve human judgement and facilitate learning, in redesigning complex business processes handling turbulent environments. |
