| Tiivistelmä: | In the United States Consumer Directed Health Plans (CDHP) are new and increasingly popular insurance products that aim to increase consumer involvement in health care decision-making. This article uses quantitative and qualitative methods and examines characteristics of employees in large firm that voluntary enroll in CDHPs. The results show that salaried and hourly high deductible CDHP enrollees to be substantially healthier and have higher educational attainment than Preferred Provider Organizations (PPO) enrollees. It shows that there was less favorable selection in to a more popular, lower deductible CDHP. |
