| Tiivistelmä: | Some types of cooperative arrangements are becoming more popular /joint ventures, R&D cooperations/; however, such arrangements often fail. The purpose of the paper is to find answer to the question: Why do cooperative arrangements fail? In doing so, some common characteristics of such arrangements are emphasized, the characteristics of the governance mode for such arrangements are discussed. A specific failing cooperative arrangements /joint venture/ is described and analyzed in the context of the above theory based discussion. Finally, managerial and theoretical implications of the prior analysis and discussion are highlighted. |
